Full Mental Jacket Creates Virtual Set for New Bill Nye/Discovery Education Channel Show
Full Mental Jacket, led by designer/manager Ronen Lasry has completed set design and production on Bill Nye Inventions for the Discovery Education Channel. The show, produced by Karen Carlson for Tapestry International (www.tapestry.tv), is intended to continue Bill Nye's stock in trade, the child-friendly science lesson with a lot of humor thrown in to keep the little ones interested.
The set, inspired by the look of genre sci-fi pulp magazines of the 40s and 50s, was built in a little over a week to meet Tapestry's very tight production schedule. "The whole project was pretty ambitious. Tapestry had little creative direction from their client and we worked together to come up with something inventive in a very short amount of time. Our ultimate idea was elaborate, creating a set that was more a character in and of itself than mere backdrop for the action."
